Lush runs internal conference in nine languages across two days at two sites


Lush Cosmetics is a retailer headquartered in Poole, Dorset, United Kingdom. In July 2019, the company held an internal conference over two days, with store representatives coming together in Liverpool to hear about industry trends, company developments and best practices.

The Challenge

Lush is a cosmetics retailer that is known for its authentic products, clean branding, and ethical and environmentally conscious approach. Enabling employees to understand industry-leading presentations was critical. The company values inclusivity and therefore interpreting was vital.

However, using traditional interpreter services was not viable due to space limitations. Furthermore, interpreting was required at two sites for various events across the jam-packed agenda on both days.

The Approach

Interprefy worked closely with Lush's project manager to develop a bespoke solution for the event, which has a busy and jam-packed agenda which was regularly updated with changes and new events. Interprefy identified interpreters who were familiar with the industry and ensured they were briefed with the presentations ahead of time. Interprefy provided both onsite and remote support.

The Outcome

The feedback was exceptional from the customer, attendees and from the interpreters. Due to Interprefy's remote support team, the interpreters were able to deliver an outstanding service across the two-day event.
