This was a large summit with a jam-packed agenda consisting of conference-style presentations, product demonstrations and smaller break-out sessions. With numerous meetings and presentations running simultaneously across several venues, there was a high level of complexity.
Traditional interpreting was not an option due to the shear scale of the event: in addition to the main hall, there were ten breakout rooms and each room required five or more languages. The prospect of installing interpreting booths in each room was not only unattractive and expensive, but it was not feasible due to space limitation.
The technology company had a very diverse audience and required interpreting into many languages, including rare languages.
Interprefy had three weeks to prepare for the event and source 102 interpreters. Initially the client wanted to have interpreting in only one main plenary room but later decided to have interpretation in all breakout rooms as well, to ensure participants were able to understand what would be challenging technical terminology.

Interprefy's solution was very successful. From the outset, the Interprefy team worked closely with Google's in-house IT team and with the event production company. Prior to and during the event, more than 30 Interprefy staff were monitoring the event from a technical standpoint, to ensure it was a success.
